Penguin Young Readers has established a new writing contest to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Roll of Thunder, Hear My Cry penned by inaugural NSK laureate Mildred D. Taylor.

The lineup for the 32nd KidFilm Festival was announced in D Magazine this week, and NSK laureate Katherine Paterson will be among the festival’s special guests.

The Harry Ransom Center in Austin, TX has been awarded a project to digitize the personal papers of Neustadt laureate Gabriel García Márquez.
